Ultra Coral maintains in-house core competencies in marine logistics, vessel handling, diving, animal husbandry, marine science, management, marketing and transport logistics. Nic Dos Santos, Managing Director
Nic is the founder and Managing Director of Ultra Coral Australia Pty Ltd. Over the years Nic has averaged 260+ days per annum on the water and captained vessels of varying sizes. He holds a Coxswain Ticket, Commercial Harvest licenses and specialist dive qualifications. He has dived extensively throughout the entire Great Barrier Reef since 1991 and has 27 years’ experience in the use of Surface Supplied Breathing Apparatus (SSBA). He has also completed the Reef Health Impact Survey (RHIS) course and is a proud Reef Guardian Fisher, sharing his underwater experiences with regulators and students.

Barbra acts as Operations and Human Resources Manager, bringing 10 years of HR and leadership management experience to the team. Her role ensures that the company is performing to its best potential. Barbra brings a big-picture perspective to the organisation by keeping her eyes on multiple areas within the company, assuring productivity and efficiency while seeking to reduce costs. Prior to joining UCA she managed the Human Resources and learning development function for small to global – size companies in industries including healthcare, marketing, and mining services where she managed all aspects of the employment process. She provides oversight on financial information, guidance on leadership coaching, human resources compliance issues as well as manages policy and procedure implementations and updates. Sebastian Horbushko, Aquaculture Specialist/Facility Manager
Sebastian has extensive experience working within the commercial aquaculture and fisheries sectors throughout the APAC Region over the last 17 + years. Originating from Far North Queensland, he has worked in a number of countries across the Central Pacific, Australia and South East Asia growing bivalves, crustaceans, fish and tropical mariculture species including corals. Sebastian is primarily engaged with assisting with system designs, team building/training, facility management, day to day operations, aquaculture processes, research and husbandry techniques for the holding and propagation of UCA corals. Sebastian is excited for the future developments at UCA and the possibility of introducing additional ornamental species such as Tropical Giant Clams and Finfish to the business. Sebastian has had a close affinity with the oceans as a fisherman, consultant, recreational and a commercial diver. Sustainability is a key focus for future development and long jeopardy of the industry.
